The Wayne County education assistance organization offers volunteer opportunities at nine of the county’s nine schools to officially begin the new year.
John State, N. C. — Communities Supporting Schools ( CSS) is once more mobilizing participants and personnel to provide essential educational support services to students across Wayne County as the new school time rolls on.
The organization runs complete programs in nine schools, ranging from high school graduation assistance to basic reading support. CSS coordinates four reading programs at the secondary level where participants serve as “reading buddies” and collaborate with students on a regular basis to develop literacy and develop a love of reading.
The business stated that” The beginning of the university year is always an exciting time at CSS.” This remarkable group is back to work, offering our pupils much-needed services.
Individuals Are Looking For Elementary Reading Programs
Brogden Primary, Carver Elementary, Carver Heights Elementary, and North Drive Elementary are the four primary schools where CSS is still looking for individuals for reading programs. These courses help students become more proficient readers through the use of charity reading companions.
Support for Middle and High Schools
The group’s middle school courses provide different support, including mentoring at Brogden Middle, Dillard Middle, Grantham Middle, and Mount Olive Middle schools, as well as tuition and small group sessions.
At Southern Wayne High School and Spring Creek High School, CSS focuses on college and career planning and completion help.
New Team Member Joins the Organization
Velma Hartsfield joins CSS’s North Drive Elementary staff this time. Hartsfield brings a wealth of knowledge as a retired elementary teacher with a focus on primary studying instruction.
